Sophomore Football Topples North Chicago
The Sophomore football team continued it's shutout streak with a victory Friday night over North Chicago, 42-0. This is the third shutout of the season and second consecutive for the Sequoits. The defense was led by Andrew Imler who recovered a fumble and snagged a one-handed interception. Zach Epker, who had two sacks, made things very difficult for the Warhawk offense. Joe Mrnak made his first start on the defensive line a memorable one with a sack, forced fumble, and fumble recovery. Joey Lombardo also recovered a fumble. The Sequoits got on the board first when Stephen Smith connected with Kyle Metzel for a TD in the first quarter. Matt Wilfert added a 15 yd. TD run and Danny Arden ran for two scores. Karl Nettgen caught a TD pass from Josh Anttila and George Gonzalez capped the scoring with a TD run in the 3rd quarter. The Sequoits (5-1-1, 3-1) will visit Lakes Friday night.
