Varsity Football Gets Back to Winning Ways

The Sequoit varsity football team honored coaches Del Pechauer and Mike Gordy Friday night with a convincing 47-26 victory over North Chicago. Steve Lorenzini hit paydirt 4 times for the Sequoits who improve to 4-3 on the season. Lorenzini's 175 yards pushed him into second place on the all-time rushing yardage list behind only Cameron White. Josh Guadarrama scored twice and Vinnie Holm once. Antioch rushed for over 400 yards in the game. Co-captain Rolando Ortiz recovered a fumble for the defense who pressured the Warhawk offense most of the evening. The Sequoits will travel to Lakes Friday night in a game that is crucial for both teams push towards the playoffs.
