Darkness, Eagles Can't Stop Sophomore Football
The sophomore football team was victorious in a dramatic fashion Friday night when Danny Arden plunged into the end zone with 2 seconds remaining and then added the 2 point conversion to give the Sequoits a 22-14 victory over Lakes. Karl Nettgen, Jonathan Buxton, and Chris Breezee paved the way to a 14-0 halftime lead for Antioch. Josh Anttila scored on runs of 65 and 5 yards, but the Eagles would fight back to tie the game with just minutes remaining. A drive highlighted by big runs from Stephen Smith and George Gonzalez ended with the Arden TD. Michael Morales saved the day with a tackle to end the game on the ensuing kickoff. Antioch, now 6-1-1 (overall) and 4-1 (division) will look to finish atop the division next week at Round Lake.
