Tough Tournament
It was a long day of competition against some very good teams. The girls starting out strong and against Number 1 seed in the Sectionals, Crystal Lake Central. We played even up late in each set before finally losing in two. We struggled in the second match of the day against Richmond Burton and played out of system most of the match. We showed character coming back to win the first set but were unable to win the next two, losing in three. We lost in two to strong Marian Central, Sycamore and McHenry teams. Even though we were 0-5 on the day I think the girls learned some things about themselves and the game of volleyball.
Leaders for the day were; Erica Lubkeman 21 kills, 13/14 serving and 23 digs, Lauren Grant 16 kills, 33/36 serving with 2 aces, 29 digs and 5 blocks, Brianna Grant 16 kills, 18/27 serving with 1 ace, 7 digs and 13 blocks, Jessica Ploss 8 kills, 6 blocks, Savana Bailey 37 assists 25/28 serving with 4 aces and 9 digs, Kendall Padgett 32 assists, 26/30 serving with 1 ace and 18 digs, Amber Dalgaard 26/29 serving with 1 ace and 43 digs, Solange Simpson 9 digs
