Maroons Cross Country Boys Finishes Fifteenth At I.H.S.A. Sectional
The course was very muddy, but according to Coach Johnson, the boys ran the best they could run and placed 15th overall at the Sectional meet in Decatur. Coach Johnson is encouraged about the future of the Maroons as five of the top seven runners are returning next season and that gives the Maroons a big advantage over a lot of their opponents. The top runner for the Maroons was Jon Picchietti, he led the troops with a time of 17:25, Kain Shirley, not running at 100%, was the next runner to cross the finish line in 17:38, followed by Dan Coleman, Alex Goodlad, and Kyle Hammel. "Now that the season has ended, the team will have to move forward and look to be even better next season" stated Coach Johnson.
