"Maroons Back To Sectional For The Fifth Year In A Row"
The day was cold, the course was wet and muddy, but the Maroons went out with a goal in mind to make it back to the IHSA Sectional meet for the fifth time under Coach Johnson, and they did it! "It was not a big surprise, but things got a little hairy at times, but our team came through as a pack to take the last spot," stated Coach Johnson. "Now we can relax and really focus on getting ready for the Sectional meet with the hope to qualify for State." The top runner at the Regional meet for the Maroons was freshman Kain Shirley as he finished 15th in the three mile race with a time of 17:18, not far behind was Dan Coleman 17:31, Jon Picchietti 17:40, Alex Goodlad 17:43 and rouding out the squad was Kendrith Rowland 17:57. Great team effort and now it's on to Decatur for the Sectional.
