Maroons Finish Sixth At Big 12

Everything was in place for the Maroons to finish in one of the top four places but something went wrong and the team fell short of their meet goals for this meet. Coach Johnson was lost for words when explaining why the team had a rough day, but he was happy to see how well Jon Picchietti ran at the meet. Picchietti was Central's lone star of the meet as he ran the course in a season, and personal, best time of 16:40.75 and finished 19th overall. Another top performer was Chris Svendsen who drop one minute off his best time to run a 18:11. Next up for the Maroons will be the IHSA Regional at Orchard Downs in Urbana. Coach is sure the team will refocus and be ready to run a great race at Regionals.
