Maroons Continue To Move Forward With A Great Effort At East Peoria Invite
With the sun being blocked out by the fog and clouds, the weather was just perfect for the Maroons to get out and run well, and that's what they did. In the varsity race Dan Coleman lead the team with an outstanding time of 17:18, followed closely by Jon Picchietti who ran a time of 17:26. Coach Johnson stated "this is what needs to happen if we are to do well at conference". Also running very well today in the freshmen/sophomore race was Kain Shirley who lead the pack of three and finished third as a individual to medal with a time of 17:02 with Alex Goodlad who medal and ran a time of 17:29 not far behind. Coach Johnson felt that allowing his young guys to run in their class could paint a picture of what's to be as he looks to next year's team, and he feels that picture looks very good for the Maroons cross country program, so stay tune as the Maroons continues to grow and get better. Next up a dual with Danville.
