What a Comeback! (Well, Almost)
The Tigers were off to a great start against the SkyHawks tonight as they worked well together as a team and kept composure throughout the first game. Strolling to a 25-16 victory, the Tigers were ready for game two. Or so they thought. In game two, Johnsburg jumped out to a commanding lead and lead by a score of 11-2 early on. But the Tigers were not going to allow that to defeat their hard work and effort. Struggling to catch up, it looked like a third game was going to be necessary when the Tigers finally sided out at 17-24. Server Anna Hjerstedt went back to serve hoping to score a late run of points. Her teammates felt the same way and the Tigers went on a run playing incredible defense behind the blocking of Libby Paulson, scoring 6 consecutive team points to bring them within one point of tying the game at 23-24. But the Skyhawks were able to score and force the third game stopping the Tigers at 23-25. In game three, the Tigers had the momentum and jumped to an early 8-2 lead. Able to hold on for the win, they closed out the third game by a score of 25-19. Tonight's win put the Tigers 6-4 in FVC play with one more tournament and two conference matches left to play.
