Lakes falls to Mundelein after leading by 9 at the half in boys basketball

The Eagles had an opportunity to take a 14 point lead going into the half but a layup just rimmed out and then Mundelein grabbed the rebound and went down the floor to hit a 3 point shot that left the Eagles with a 39-30 halftime lead.

In the second half the Eagles did a great job of keeping the lead late into the fourth quarter where Mundelein finally pulled ahead. With a minute to go the Eagles stole the ball and hit a shot from JJ Elvir which cut the lead to 60-62 in favor of Mundelein. The Mustangs held on by making Free Throws for a 60-67 victory. Lakes is 17-10 on the season and will play in their first game of the Carmel Regional on Tuesday night.

Lakes led 39-30 at halftime but was unable to hold the lead as Mundelein was strong on the offensive glass and was able to overcome the deficit.

Lakes (17-10) was led by Tanner Blain with 19 points. Justin Bergeron added 10.
