Prais qualifies for the 2A Boys State Cross-Country meet
On a blustery and very sloppy(muddy) race the Lakes Eagles improved from thier 11th place(159 pts from qualifying) team finish last year to finish 7th (30 points from qualifying) at the Belvidere Sectional. It was a very tough day for the Eagles as few of the boys had to deal with frozen wet feet throughout the race.
Though they came up short in accomplishing their #4 season goal, they did improve as a whole and were competing in the toughest sectional in the state. If they were at any of the other three sectionals they would have qualified.
Even though the team did not quailify, the Eagles did have an individual qualify and that was freshman-Ryan Prais as he finished in 9th and was the #5 individual to qualify of 7. Finishing in 24h and being the 9th indiviual(so missing by 2) was jr-Blake Franson. Also competing for the Eagles were jr-Danny McGrath as he finished in 35th; soph-Josh Camp finished in 60th, sr-Kyle White in 64th, jr-David Kosman in 117th, and sr-Grant Franson in 127th.
The Eagles will only be losing one senior in their top 5. They plan to work harder than last year to make the first Lakes Boys Cross-Country team's trip to the state meet in 2010.
