Lakes Boys Finish 6th at NSC
On a cool day and slopppy conditions (but true cross country weather), the Lakes Boys seemed to have dupicated its results (6th of 14 teams)at the North Suburban Conferenc Cross-Country meet at Warren, from a year ago. But one would have to look closer to see that the Lakes boys actually did better in terms of the details. Case in point; last year we had only two all conference(top 30 finishers), this year we had three(Fr-Ryan Prais, Jr's-Blake Franson and Danny McGraths; last year we did have one place in the JV(top 30 place), this year we also had one place jr-David Kosman; last year we did not have one place(top 15 place) in the freshman race, this year we had one, Tanner Morgan. We also had 16 of 21 run thier fastes race of the year. We had a great day. Pacing the Varsity boys was freshman-Ryan Prais placing in 8th and setting a school record of 15:44(record was held by Blake Franson in 15:50 set at the 2008 state meet.) Following him and running his best time of the year and only four seconds off his own record was jr-Blake Franson in 15. Earning the third all-conference medal was jr-Danny McGrath placing in 26th with a time of 16:12. Also scoring for the Eagles was sr-Kyle White in 40th, and soph-Josh Camp in 43rd. Also running varsity were sr-Grant Franson in 53rd and sr-Nick Lillig in 65th. There were 95 runners. Running in the jv race were: jr-David Kosman in 22nd, sr-Joe Doran in 37th, sr-John Sieracke in 42nd, sr-Evan Vandermeer in 43rd, jr-Ryan Hergott in 57th, sr-Jack Olson in 65th, soph-Wesley Gonzalaz in 74th, jr-Matt Duff in 104, soph-Steve Maluenda in 112th, jr-Kyle Gibson in 123rd, sr-Jeff Verenski in 130th, and soph-Ryan Silvola in 149th. There were 234 runner in the jv race. Running in the freshman race were Tanner Morgan finishing in 9th and Josh Sell fininshing in 39th. There were 58 runners. Up next for the Eagles Cross-Country team is the Regional meet at Fox River Park in Wilmont, Wis. Race starts at 2:45pm.
