CARBONDALE – Abbie Horan of Lakes High completed her prep golf career with a fourth-place finish at the IHSA Class 2A state girls golf tournament that concluded its two-day run here on Saturday at Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
Kris Yoo of Conant High in Hoffman Estates won her second straight individual title, and she won in a playoff for the second straight year.
Last year, she beat Deerfield’s Jamie Lavin on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff when Lavin bogeyed.
Saturday, Yoo prevailed on the first extra hole when Kaneland’s Haley Guyton bogeyed the first extra hole.
Yoo finished with 73-72—145 and Guyton had 75-70—145.
Horan finished with 75-74—149 to tie for fourth and Stevenson High freshman Stephanie Miller tied for eighth with 75-77—152.
In the team competition, Homewood-Flossmoorre won with 612. That was 41 shots better than second-place New Trier.
No area teams qualified for state.
