Lions Volleyball Outlasts Coal City
The Lisle girls volleyball team exacted some revenge Tuesday night gainst an old foe. The trip to Coal City in September was one of the few low spots for the team this year and the girls wanted to come out and play a good sound match against the Coalers and really find out who was the better team. They came out in a big way in game 1 winning 25-21 behind our middles dominance at the net, a sound passing game getting the offense going, and a collection of excellent servers. Coal City roared back to take a hard fought second game 22-25, but were not up to the challenge in the nightcap as the Lions spotted them an early lead only to push ahead and control the end of the game 25-21. Lisle leaders were Frankie Parrillo - 14 digs. Jackie Todd, Vanessa Abenante, and Chelsea Peterson 7 kills. Colleen Drennan 4 blocks, 3 kills. Brianna Larson 27 assists. Jordan Biechler 20 service points to go along with 6 kills. The home crowd was a great boost and our thanks to the parents, students and teachers. The next home match is Senior Night (October 20th). It is also "Volley for the Cure" night and we would love to have a big crowd out in their pink shirts supporting a cure for breast cancer and your hard working Lisle Girls Volleyball team.
