Lions lose in Mud Bowl

Lisle played hard, but lost their season finale last Friday at Sandwich. The conditions could not have been much worse and it was a defensive grudge match for most of the game. Heading into the fourth quarter Sandwich maintained a 7-0 lead. Lisle's offense sputtered under these conditions, but did manage a late drive to make the score 14-7. After a failed onside kick Lisle's defense stepped up and forced a three and out. Lisle had the ball with just over two minutes remaining. The Lions could not manage a first down and Sandwich took over effectively ending the game. Lisle finished 2-7 on the season and Sandwich finished 5-4, but missed the playoffs.
