Look for repeat from St. Francis
Outlook: Despite returning just one starter, St. Francis should once again be a force. Junior all-conference guard Reagan O'Toole is back from last season's 14-0 league champs, for whom he averaged 10 points. Coach Mike Harper hopes A.J. Palash and Clay Manley, who played substantial minutes as juniors, step up offensively. Driscoll might have the best athlete in the conference in senior John Tranchitella, a 6-2 forward who has signed with NIU to play football. The Highlanders also return Kyle Jenkins (18 points, 10 rebounds), two-time all-conference pick. Marian Central's spotlight is on 7-1 Ryne Luecht. "He is getting more strength and more agility," coach Tom Les said of Luecht, who starting playing basketball as a sophomore. "He just lacks instincts and experience."
