It's N. Lawndale: What else is new?
Outlook: North Lawndale's stranglehold on this conference is seven years strong. The Phoenix has dropped just four league games in this time and will once again be the team to beat. The real battle will be for second, with up to four teams in the fight. North Lawndale returns flashy all-conference guard Hayward Brown (19-point average), Derek White and 6-5 Isiah Evans. Quigley, with three returning starters—including point guard Arthur Augustynski—is in the second-place mix, as is Holy Trinity, which with 6-2 senior Tolani Odutayo should give plenty of teams fits. Northridge Prep was decimated by graduation but has a solid program and cannot be counted out. St. Benedict has the speed to contend but lacks size. CICS Northtown, led by 6-3 Marco Samimy and his 17.5 scoring average, joins the league after playing as an independent last season. St. Gregory drops out to join the Metro Prep. Remaining behind, however, is Cristo Rey, where optimism reigns because of an increase in numbers.
