Game # 1Herscher High School 53
North Lawndale College Prep 70
Herscher starts out very tentative and early Lawndale leads 6 - 0. All points coming off post moves and easy shots for NLCP.

North Lawndale's pressure continues to set the tone - Herscher shows signs of settling in and making a game of it, but after one quarter NLCP leads 19 - 7.

Herscher cut the lead to six in late in the second quarter but NLC P gets the next four to lead 39 - 29 at half.

A number of NLCP starters were not here to start the game due to ACT testing today - they are in the gym and starting the second half. NLCP has a 15 point lead early in the third quarter.

At the end of the third quarter, NLCP leads 58 - 37.

Herscher cuts the lead to 7 in the fourth quarter, but NLCP goes on to win 70 - 53. For Herscher, Rennewanz scores 12, DeNault 13, and Winnicki 14.

NLCP is lead in scoring by Hayward Brown with 23. Smith follows with 14.

NLCP had too much quickness and pressure - Herscher made a few runs, but just as quick, NLCP would answer with a flurry.

Hayward Brown from North Lawndale was the MVP. Brown, in a very classy move, elected to pass the award on to Cordero Smith who also had a great game for NLCP.

Game # 2Hartsburg-Emden High School 76

This game really never got close - Hartem was on fire all day and played an excellent ballgame soundly defeating Illiana Christian, 76 - 53.

Hartem led after one 21 - 13, and extended that to a 46 - 17 halftime lead. At the end of three, Hartem was up 62 - 38 and then cruised home.

Game # 3Rockridge High School 83
Manley High School 86
Rockridge and Manley are putting on a good show in the North Gym. Manley busted out to a 35 - 25 halftime lead, but with two minutes to go in the third quarer, Rockridge has battled back to a 43 - 43 tie.

Three overtimes ---- Blaser fouls out in the second OT ---- and Manley escapes with an 86 - 83 win.

This was a great game. Both teams had opportunities to win. Rockridge looked like they would win it in regulation, but Manley came up with a couple steals, tied it up and off we went to overtime.

Records set all over the place - Blaser ties Shootout top scoring record with 33. Eddie Brown for Manley grabs MVP honors with his 31.

A fans favorite - could have went either way, but Manley prevails.

The game MVP for Bushnell was Zach Stuann who finished with a game high 23 points.

Game # 5Leo High School 54
St. Joseph-Ogden 57
LEO FALLS TO ST. JOE OGDEN.

St. Joseph-Ogden hung around all game and made their move in the fournt quarter. Leo had a big turnover with about 6 seconds left and a one point lead, but a Leo player misinterpreted the call thinking it was a foul instead of a St. Joe walk - he said too much - got the technical called and St. Joe hit the free throws to win the game.
Everyone but St. Joe was schocked.
